Dallas Area Rapid Transit

Stingray Bay at the Dallas Zoo lets you interact with live stingrays - beautiful flat-winged cousins of the shark. After you've touched and watched a while, take a ride on the new 3-dimensional motion simulator to a Pineapple Under the Sea for a visit with SpongeBob SquarePants™ and his buddy Patrick. Exhibit admission is $2.50 per person ($2 per person for Zoo members). The SpongeBob SquarePants 3-D ride is $5 per person ($4 per person for Zoo members) and does not include admission to Stingray Bay. Zoo admission is separate. Canstruction® at NorthPark Center, 8687 N. Central Expwy., combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Benefitting the North Texas Food Bank and created by the Society for Design Administration working in tandem with the American Institute of Architects, competing teams, led by architects and engineers, will showcase their talents by designing giant sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibition, all of the food used in the structures will be donated to the North Texas Food Bank for distribution to 917 feeding and education programs including food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, after-school programs, and other social service centers. Teams will build their structures on Saturday, September 6 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. The structures will be on display Saturday, September 6 through Sunday, September 14. The Freedom Run and Festival is an evening of fun for the whole family while honoring the sacrifices of 9/11. Come to the Dallas City Hall Plaza to compete in the 5K Freedom Run and Carollo Mile, enjoy entertainment, vendors and more. The Start! Heart Walk is a great way to exercise and join the fight against heart disease. Opening ceremonies are at 8:30 a.m. at Victory Park, followed by the 3-mile walk at 9 a.m. and after-walk festivities until 11:30 a.m. Registration is free, and all participants raising at least $100 get a Heart Walk t-shirt. The T's Safari Shuttle Adventure Express is a trolley bus leaving on the hour and half hour Saturdays from the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) Station to the Fort Worth Zoo. The ITC Station is located at 1001 Jones St. in downtown Fort Worth. Returning to the ITC Station is simple - board where you got off. Return trips from the Fort Worth Zoo board every 30 minutes between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The Fort Worth Zoo is recognized as one of the top zoos in the nation, with more than 1,200 creatures from around the world living in lush, natural-habitat settings. Tree-shaded, winding paths lead visitors to incredible exhibits like World of Primates, Asian Falls, Komodo Dragons, Meerkat Mounds, Raptor Canyons and Texas Wild!

The Impressionists: Master Paintings from the Art Institute of Chicago brings 92 masterpieces by Manet, Degas, Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Gaugin, Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec to the galleries of the Kimbell Art Museum. It's a feast for the eyes at the Kimbell, 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd.
