Downtown Dallas: Live Oak Exit Closure Effective Sunday, June 17, 2007 The Live Oak exit on southbound US 75 (Exit 284C) will be closed starting Sunday night, June 17 and remain closed until June 2009. The closure is part of DART's Green Line Rail construction around the Bryan/Hawkins intersection. Two bridges in the area have been removed and the road is being lowered to street level. Motorists who typically take the Live Oak exit are advised to either exit at Lemmon or take the Ross exit and travel to Pearl St. View a street location map. • To support construction around the Bryan/Hawkins intersection: • Motorists will not be able to make left turns from Leonard St. across the DART Rail tracks. • West End Station Temporarily Relocating From Sept. 12 (8 p.m.) to Oct. 20 • The additional renovation at Akard Station scheduled for August 16-17 and August 23-24 has been postponed until further notice. |
Market Center Community construction information

Market Center Community: • Southbound Harry Hines between Market Center and Vagas is reduced to one lane and northbound Harry Hines between Knight and Lucas is reduced to one lane until approximately September 1. Love Field West Community construction information

Love Field West Community: Neighborhood Construction Advisory - West of Love Field Construction on DART's exciting Green Line expansion into Northwest Dallas, Farmers Branch and Carrollton has begun in earnest and will continue until passenger service officially begins in December 2010. Listed below is a brief outline of how some of the major streets in the neighborhood west of Love Field will be affected.
• Manor Way at Denton Drive is closed until further notice. View a street location map. • Traffic is reduced to one lane each way at W. Mockingbird Lane and Denton Drive. View a street location map. • Harry Hines Blvd. near Community Drive will have temporary daily lane closures until mid-August to facilitate utility work. Walnut Hill/Denton Area construction information

Walnut Hill/Denton Area: Construction for DART's exciting Green Line Expansion Program into Northwest Dallas, Farmers Branch and Carrollton, is underway and will continue until the new passenger service begins in December 2010. Construction in this area will necessitate occasional traffic shifts and detours as some of the local streets and infrastructure are improved. • Denton Drive is closed from Willowbrook to Storey Lane until further notice. Detour is available via Harry Hines Blvd. View a street location map. • Denton Drive between Lombardy and Walnut Hill will be closed except for local traffic. Motorists are encouraged to look for local road detour signage. View a street location map. • Denton Drive between Storey Lane and Lombardy is reduced to one lane southbound. View a street location map. • Traffic lanes on Abernathy will be narrowed beginning August 11 to facilitate the installation of sidewalks. Work is scheduled to be complete before the opening of school on August 25. View a street location map. • Century Drive between Doric Street and Denton Drive will permanently close. Local business traffic wishing to access Denton Drive from the east will need to detour along Doric Street to Abernathy Avenue and Lombardy Lane. This work will be followed by subsequent traffic shifts at this location--each lasting for several weeks--to allow for the reconstruction of Century Drive with a direct connection to Abernathy Lane. Farmers Branch Community: Rail Construction at Farmers Branch Park & Ride - Effective August 11, 2008 For All Bus Routes Serving Farmers Branch Park & Ride: As construction continues on the future Farmers Branch Green Line rail station, all bus activity at Farmers Branch Park & Ride will relocate to a new, temporary location on Monday, August 11. Routes 44, 185, 204, 247, 331, 400 and 486 will board along Denton Drive at the sign marked: DEPARTURES All Bus Routes DART On-Call Farmers Branch and DART Paratransit Services will continue to board at their current stops. The Denton Drive location will serve bus passengers until all service moves to the new rail station in December 2010. View a street location map. • During the week of August 18-22, Denton Drive, between Villa Creek Drive and the westbound I-635 service road, will be closed to facilitate underground utility work. Motorists will be detoured as follows: northbound traffic detoured onto Harry Hines via westbound I-635 service road and southbound traffic will be detoured to westbound I-635 service road via Villa Creek. Construction in this area will necessitate occasional traffic shifts and detours as some of the local streets and infrastructure are improved. • Ismaili Center Circle is nearing completion. Any time you undertake a construction project, the possibility for danger is elevated. DART is urging everyone to be extra careful around its facilities, vehicles and especially the construction areas. Here are 10 tips you should know.
- Stop, look and listen for DART vehicles.
- Cross the street or track at designated crosswalks only.
- Never walk, ride or play in front of or behind a DART vehicle.
- Children should always exit the bus through the front door.
- Do not walk, ride or play in a construction area.
- Never walk, ride or play on or near railroad tracks.
- Always stand behind the textured warning strips on rail platforms.
- Be careful when driving or turning across train tracks.
- Never try to beat a train through a crossing.
- Remember: Safety begins with you. Talk to your family.
