The Best Is Yet To Come
A letter from the DART Board of Directors.
10 Years and Growing
Can it be? Is it possible – DART trains have been rolling across the North Texas landscape for 10 years?

10 Views on DART Rail
Ten years ago on the eve of DART Rail's debut, many people still didn't believe the system would succeed.

10 Years Ahead
The only thing more exciting than looking back at the 10-year history of DART Rail is looking 10 years ahead, when the light rail system will double to more than 90 miles and 62 stations.

Lone Star Kudos
Texas Transit Association Award imageThe Texas Transit Association (TTA) has named DART the state's Outstanding Metropolitan Transit System. The award was presented at the association's conference in Galveston. DART was selected by TTA for a number of recent accomplishments including the successful expansion of its light rail system; superior safety record; initiatives to strengthen employee, customer and community relations; and efforts promoting diversity and advancing the roles of minorities and women in the industry.

Good news for folks with spokes
Just in time for summer fun, DART's Bike & Ride Policy allows bicycle commuters and DART Bike & Ride logorecreational riders more flexibility on the DART System. Rush-hour restrictions have been lifted for bicycles on DART trains and buses — as long as the bicycle is clean and there is enough room to bring it on board. Cyclists who want to park their bikes for the day and ride transit may use bicycle racks at DART facilities at no charge. For long-term parking, storage lockers are available at selected DART facilities. Rental fees are $15 for three months, $25 for six months and $45 for a full year. Learn more at www.DART.org/Bike or by calling 214-747-RIDE (7433).

New ride from Denton
DCTA Commuter Express bus imageCommuters tired of the I-35 grind between Denton and Downtown Dallas got a break beginning May 30 when the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA), in cooperation with DART, launched the Commuter Express bus service. Passengers can catch three non-stop express coach trips between park & ride locations in Denton and Lewisville and eight stops in Downtown Dallas, including DART's West and East transfer centers. Select trips serve DART's North Carrollton Transit Center and the University of North Texas. One-way cash fare is $5, a 20-ride pre-paid ticket is $45, and a monthly pass is $85. With the purchase of a DART pass, riders can transfer to or from DART services at the downtown transfer centers or at the North Carrollton Transit Center. Commuter Express is a precursor to DCTA's planned commuter rail service that will connect with DART Rail in Carrollton.
