June 14, 1996 — DART Rail debuts in Downtown Dallas and Oak Cliff with 11.2 miles.

January 10, 1997 — DART Rail Red Line extends north to Park Lane Station.

May 31, 1997 — 20-mile starter system is completed with Blue Line to Ledbetter Station.
