It was the culmination of years of hard work, and the start of an amazing transformation as DART Rail lured thousands of commuters from their cars and forever changed perceptions of public transit. Ten years later, ridership continues to reach ever-higher numbers. We could not have reached this milestone without the support of so many people: our member-city governments that committed themselves toward turning the dream of DART Rail into a reality; the North Texas Congressional Delegation that provided historic support at home and in Washington; our elected officials in Austin who forwarded DART's legislative initiatives; contractors and vendors who helped build the system and keep it running smoothly; visionary developers who have invested billions in exciting new destinations; and our talented staff who are passionate about success and excellence. Now, work begins soon to double the size of the rail system, bringing new connections and opportunities to even more people. While we celebrate 10 years of DART Rail, let's commit ourselves to continue working together to make the next 10 years as successful as the first. See you on DART!
