Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Feb. 11 Over 60,000 "Will Run for Chocolate" in 2011. Will you be among the 200,000 running for Chocolate in 2012 at the Hot Chocolate 15k/5k? Both the 15k and the 5k begin and end at Fair Park. Prior to race day, the Hot Chocolate Expo will take place in Fair Park at the Automobile Building on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 10 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. After the race, join your fellow chocoholics for a soiree of chocolate fondue, hot cocoa and a variety of chocolate treats from the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company at the post-race party. Fight for Air Climb Feb. 18 At the 2012 American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb on February 18, hundreds of people will huff and puff their way to the top of the Renaissance Tower in Dallas for a great cause. This is more than your same-old 5K. This event is a vertical race to climb 53 floors. Whether climbing for a winning time or simply to cross the finish line, in honor or in memory of someone with lung disease, this event is a great way to challenge yourself physically. Renaissance Tower is at 1201 Elm St. Check in begins at 7 a.m. and the climb starts at 8 a.m. Information: fightforairclimb.org.

The Color Run Feb. 19 The Color Run in Fair Park benefits the American Heart Association. The run is from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The Color Run is a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with your friends and family. For this event, it is about people of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes toeing the start line. Whether you are a casual morning mall walker or an Olympic athlete, the 3 miles of the Color Run course will be the most enjoyable real estate you've traveled in a long time. Race rules: rule #1, all participants are welcome... fast, slow, runner, walker, old, and young; rule #2, white shirt dress code at the official start line and ready to roll no later than 9 a.m. sharp!; and rule #3, completely colored Willy Wonka goodness at the finish.
