Minor Service Changes Scheduled for March 25

Improved Transfer Connections Targeted


Customers on a number of bus routes should plan to obtain new timetables, effective Monday, March 25, 2013, when minor service changes, designed primarily to improve transfer connections and on-time performance on the routes listed below, take place. Only one route change, involving added weekend service to the new George W. Bush Presidential Center near SMU, is planned. For additional details, please call 214/979-1111.

Routes: 2, 27, 35, 183, 208, 400, 409, 488, 500, 501, 521, 524, 534, 547, 568, 840 (Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing FLEX), 842 (Buckner Station FLEX), 870 (East Plano FLEX)

  Adjustments will be made to the weekday mid-day schedule to improve on-time performance. Note: weekday midday trips to Downtown Dallas from Culver will continue as Route 42; passengers wishing to go to Culver should board Route 2 buses at West Transfer Center or on Commerce Street.

      Two early weekday morning trips will be restored to the schedule: the 5:15 a.m. (line-up) leaving Elm & Lamar, and then an eastbound bus leaving Commerce & Griffin at 5:30 a.m.

      Some weekday mid-day travel times from Addison Transit Center will be adjusted for earlier arrivals at Northwest Plano Park & Ride.

      Selected travel times will be adjusted for earlier arrivals in Downtown Dallas.

      Some weekday mid-day travel times from Addison Transit Center will be adjusted for earlier arrivals at Northwest Plano Park & Ride.

      Weekday, Saturday and Sunday times will be adjusted to improve on-time performance.

      Trips to Sigma & Neutron will be discontinued.

      All departures from DFW Terminal A to Belt Line Station after 1 a.m. will be discontinued. (Note: this schedule change will not affect Orange Line passengers, as arrivals at Belt Line Station occur after conclusion of rail service; however, it could impact customers using the all-night parking option.)

      Weekend departure times will be adjusted to improve transfer connections.

      Weekend routing will be adjusted to serve the new George W. Bush Presidential Center and the future Residential Commons at SMU dormitory development near the campus. Approaching Mockingbird Station from Cityplace/Uptown Station, buses will turn left on Mockingbird Lane, right on Airline Road into Dublin Street, right on SMU Blvd. into Yale Blvd. and right on Worcola Street into Mockingbird Station. Service between Mockingbird and Cityplace/Uptown stations will utilize the same routing in reverse. The weekend schedule will remain unaffected, although some times during the week will change. (Note: Weekday service to the Bush Center and new dormitory development will be provided by Route 768-Mustang Express.)

      To improve transfer connections with Route 183, the final Saturday trip will leave Addison Transit Center four minutes later, at 11:04 p.m.

      A p.m. northbound trip will be added to improve transfer connections at Westmoreland Station, leaving Country Creek and Country Creek Ct. at 3:09 p.m., arriving Westmoreland Station at 3:25 p.m.

      Minor schedule adjustments will be made.

      Some weekday mid-day trips will be adjusted for improved transfer connections at Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing Station.

    • 870

      The detour near Downtown Plano Station, in place since December 7, 2012, will become a permanent part of the route.
