HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE (HOV) LANES

Effective Monday afternoon, July 6:
New lane on Tom Landry Highway set to open
With the completion of nine new miles, between Loop 12 and Sylvan Avenue, west of Downtown Dallas, the region will have 84 miles of HOV lanes. The I-30 West lane runs from Sylvan to the Dallas/Tarrant County line.

The new lane, which operates westbound only, will be available from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is open to vehicles with two or more occupants, buses, motorcycles and other eligible vehicles. Hybrid vehicles with single occupants are not allowed in area HOV lanes.

From Ballpark Way to Sylvan Avenue (approximately 15 miles); 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (eastbound)
and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (westbound)

I-30 West HOV Lane imageThe first of its kind in the metroplex, the new Tom Landry Freeway (I-30) Managed HOV Lanes allow Single Occupancy Vehicles (SOVs) the flexibility and convenience of using HOV lanes. SOVs will be charged a fee for using the service in accordance with approved regional policies.

Currently only vehicles with two or more occupants and other eligible vehicles will be allowed to use the lanes.
