In support of rail expansion, some bus routes are proposed for reduction or elimination, others would be extended or shortened to serve rail stations, and new routes would be created as station feeders. Routes and schedules would be coordinated to provide more effective and efficient service by avoiding costly duplication. A portion of the changes would be implemented on July 30, the remainder on December 3. Changes proposed for each date are as follows:

CHANGES EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JULY 30, 2012
Rail Service
Orange Line - Irving Convention Center Station to either Parker Road Station (rush hours) or LBJ/Central Station (other times); frequencies, 15 min. (rush hours), 20 min. (middays), 30 min. (late evenings, weekend mornings).
Bus Routes
21 - operate between Oak Cliff and East Transfer Center only; Route 521 would be extended south to Blackburn and terminate at Cityplace Station; Routes 31, 39 and M Line streetcar would replace other discontinued segments.27 - discontinue route due to low ridership.
35 - reduce operating hours to 5 a.m. - 11 p.m. weekdays and 5:30 a.m.- 8 p.m. weekends.
59 - discontinue service south of Downtown Dallas due to low ridership.
110 - operate all trips on Interstate 30 (HOV rush hours) and discontinue service to Fair Park and the East Grand/Culver/Winslow area; Route 111 would continue to serve that portion.
111 - discontinue Interstate 30 and HOV trips, modify rush hour frequency from 20 to 30 minutes.
155 - discontinue route; service along most discontinued segments would be provided by Routes 466, 554 and Blue Line.
183 - extend hourly midday service from Addison Transit Center to new Northwest Plano Park & Ride at Tennyson Parkway & Communications.
202 - discontinue route; service along discontinued segments would be provided by New Route 503 and Orange Line.
208 (New) - would operate express rush hour service between new Northwest Plano Park & Ride and Downtown Dallas.
210 - modify schedule to six morning trips and six afternoon trips; add stops along Frankford between Preston and the Dallas North Tollway.
234 - modify route to serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued.
301 - modify route to serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station and future North Lake College Station, discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center and West Irving Station: route number would change to 501.
302 - modify route to serve future North Lake College Station via Story and Walnut Hill, discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center; route number would change to 504.
303 - discontinue route; segments along MacArthur Blvd. would be served by New Route 401.
305 - modify route to operate between West Irving and University of Dallas stations via Rochelle, discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center (most discontinued segments would be served by Route 507); route number would change to 505.
306 - modify route to operate between South Irving and University of Dallas stations, discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center, route number would change to 508.
307 - modify route to operate between Irving Health Center, West Irving and South Irving stations only, discontinue service to Century Center; route number would change to 514.
308 - discontinue route; segments along MacArthur Blvd. would be served by New Route 401.
310 - modify route to serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station, discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center; additional changes covered in December 3 section.
311 - discontinue route; service along most discontinued segments would be provided by Routes 401, 505, 510 and 511.
346 (New) - would operate from new Northwest Plano Park & Ride to Granite Park area; service would be 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. weekdays, 30 min. rush hours, 60 min. midday.
347 - extend route from Presbyterian Hospital of Plano to new Northwest Plano Park and Ride.
348 (New) - would operate from the new Northwest Plano Park & Ride to Legacy employers including Ericsson, Bank of America, Frito-Lay, Pizza Hut and JCPenney; service would be weekday, 15 min. rush hours, 60 min. middays.
378 - extend route from Lake Ray Hubbard Transit Center to South Garland Transit Center, replacing that portion of Route 385 primarily over Duck Creek, LaPrada and Northwest and increasing service frequency.
385 - discontinue service between Lake Ray Hubbard and South Garland transit centers (see Route 378) and reduce Chaha service to weekday rush hours only.
400 - modify route to operate between Downtown Garland and Downtown Carrollton stations only; discontinue service to North Irving Transit Center; service between Downtown Carrollton, Farmers Branch and Las Colinas Urban Center stations would be provided rush hours only by new Route 511.
401 (New) - would replace the portions of Routes 303 and 308 primarily along MacArthur Blvd., connecting South Irving Station, the future North Lake College Station and Valley Ranch.
404 - modify route to extend south from Westmoreland Station, combining portions of Routes 547, 548 and 550.
451 - extend route from Jack Hatchell Transit Center to new Northwest Plano Park and Ride, primarily along Park Blvd., Preston Road and Tennyson Parkway; non-rush hour frequency would change to 60 min.
452 - modify route to operate between Parker Road Station and new Northwest Plano Park and Ride, discontinue Sunday service; discontinued portions would be served by New Routes 346 and 348, plus an extension of Route 451.
501 (New) - would replace Route 301 and serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station and future North Lake College Station; service to North Irving Transit Center and West Irving Station would be discontinued.
503 (New) - would provide circulator service through Las Colinas Urban Center, to and from the Las Colinas Urban Center Station, replacing discontinued portions of Routes 202 and 306; service would operate counter-clockwise in the a.m. and clockwise in the p.m., over a loop formed primarily by Riverside Drive, Las Colinas Blvd. and O'Connor Blvd.
504 (New) - would replace Route 302, operating between South Irving and the future North Lake College stations primarily along Story Road and Walnut Hill Lane, serve North Lake College via N. Lake College Circle; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued.
505 (New) - would replace Route 305, operating between West Irving and University of Dallas stations, primarily along Rochelle Road; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued with Route 507 serving most discontinued portions.
507 - modify route to serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued.
508 (New) - would replace Route 306, operating between South Irving and University of Dallas stations; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued with Routes 503 and 507 serving most discontinued portions.
511 (New) - would replace discontinued portion of Route 400 between Downtown Carrollton, Farmers Branch and Las Colinas Urban Center stations, service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued; service would operate weekday rush hours only.
512 - discontinue route due to low ridership.
514 (New) - would replace Route 307, operating between West and South Irving stations and Irving Health Center only; service to Century Center would be discontinued.
515 - discontinue Sunday service due to low ridership.
521 - modify route to cover discontinued portion of Route 21, between Mockingbird Station and Blackburn, then terminate at Cityplace Station; service would operate weekdays only.
528 - modify route to serve Las Colinas Urban Center Station; service to North Irving Transit Center would be discontinued.
538 - modify Saturday route to operate clockwise only; change Saturday frequency to 40 minutes.
547 - modify route to replace portions of discontinued Route 550, including service to Country Creek and Country Creek Court, plus Sunday service to Potter's House, discontinue service south of Red Bird Lane and add counter-clockwise loop over Westmoreland and Bronze Way.
548 - discontinue route (including Saturday trips to Woods/Sugarberry) with most discontinued portions served by enhanced Route 404.
550 - discontinue route with most discontinued portions served by Routes 547 and enhanced Route 404.
553 - discontinue Saturday service due to low ridership.
574 - discontinue Saturday service (Route 548 trips) due to low ridership.
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2012
Rail Service
Orange Line - Belt Line Station to either Parker Road Station (rush hours) or LBJ/Central Station (other times); frequencies, 15 min. (rush hour), 20 min. (midday), 30 min. (late evenings, weekend mornings).
Blue Line - Downtown Rowlett Station to Ledbetter Station; no change in frequencies.
Bus Routes
31 - modify route to replace Route 51 between Oak Lawn Ave. and Union Station; service along Oak Lawn and Maple Ave. would continue to be provided by Routes 409 and 29 respectively.
39 - modify route to operate between Downtown Dallas and Inwood/Love Field Station; service between the station and Love Field Airport would be provided by New Route 524.
49 - change weekday frequency to 30 minutes (rush hours), 60 minutes (other times).
51 - modify route to become a rail feeder between Royal Lane and Inwood/Love Field stations; number would change to 529.
207 - discontinue service with opening of the Blue Line extension to Rowlett.
283 - discontinue service to Rowlett with opening of Blue Line extension.
310 - discontinue route with most segments replace by New Routes 500, 501, 509 and 510.
*487 (New) - would provide enhanced, limited stop service along the current Route 486 Forest Lane corridor. Service would operate weekdays only with a 15-minute peak hour service.
*500 (New) - would provide dedicated service between Belt Line Station and the future DFW Airport Station at Terminal A, also serving airport area hotels along Plaza Drive currently served by Route 310.
502 - change rush hour frequency to 30 minutes.
509 (New) - would operate between Belt Line Station and the western segment of current Route 310, serving destinations such as DeVry, Aviall and UTI Training Center.
510 (New) - would operate between Belt Line Station and Las Colinas Urban Center stations, replacing the eastern segment of current Route 310, also serving Gateway, Century Circle, and Premier Drives.
**513 - Discontinue Sunday service due to low ridership.
*524 (New) - would provide dedicated service between Inwood/Love Field Station and Love Field Airport, replacing the northern portion of current Route 39.
526 - change weekday frequency to 30 min. (rush hours), 60 min. (other times).
527 - change weekday frequency to 15 min. (rush hours), 60 min. (other times).
529 (New) - would operate between Royal Lane and Inwood/Love Field stations, replacing a portion of current route 51; service between Inwood Road and Union Station would be provided by Route 31.
535 - change Saturday and Sunday frequency to 60 min.
544 - change Saturday and Sunday frequency to 60 min.
554 - change rush hour frequency to 15 min.
560 - modify route to serve South Garland Transit Center, discontinue service east of Garland Avenue; service in discontinued areas would be provided by Routes 378 and 380.
567 - Discontinue route due to low ridership; DART On-Call North Dallas would remain an option.
582 - change weekday frequency to 30 min. (rush hours) and 60 min. (other times).
591 - change weekday frequency to 30 min. (rush hours) and 60 min. (other times), change Saturday and Sunday frequency to 60 min.
594 - change weekday frequency to 30 min. (rush hours) and 60 min. (other times), change Saturday and Sunday frequency to 60 min.
**595 - Discontinue Sunday service due to low ridership.
887 - modify route to operate between Downtown Rowlett Station and Dexham Road area only; service in discontinued areas would be provided by Routes 377, 513 and 571.
* Two options are being considered for Routes 487, 500 and 524. Option 1 would operate Route 487 service between Downtown Garland and Royal Lane stations and restrict airport bus service to meeting every other train; Option 2 would allow airport service to meet every train, but limit 487 routing from Downtown Garland to the Galleria. Feedback on the two options will be sought at the community meetings listed below and the January 24 public hearing before the Board makes its final decision.
** Changes to Routes 513 and 595 would be implemented only if Option 2 is the Board's decision.
Process for Receiving Comments: The DART Board of Directors encourages public comments on the night of the public hearing or in writing beforehand. Those desiring to speak should contact DART Community Affairs at 214.749.2543 to register. Advance registration will be accepted until 1 p.m. on the day of the hearing. Those who have not preregistered may sign up immediately before the hearing begins and will be scheduled to speak after those who have preregistered. In addition, written comments received any time before the hearing is adjourned will become a part of the official hearing record. Written comments may be submitted the night of the hearing or mailed in advance to:
