Go "Big and Bright!" to the Fair on DART
Take Dallas Area Rapid Transit to the biggest and brightest state fair in the land, featuring a lantern festival, starlight parade and plenty of lights. The State Fair of Texas runs Sept. 28 through Oct. 21.
Customers can ride in comfort to the fair on DART's Green Line to two stations: Fair Park, located on Parry Avenue at the entrance to the fairgrounds, and MLK, Jr., located south of R.B. Cullum Boulevard and convenient to the Gate 6 entrance and the Cotton Bowl stadium.
New DART Rail Connections
All DART Rail and Trinity Railway Express (TRE) passengers can transfer easily to the Green Line.
From the new Irving Convention Center, Las Colinas Urban Center and University of Dallas stations, eastbound Orange Line passengers transfer to the Green Line at Bachman Station. Southbound Orange, Red and Blue line passengers transfer at Pearl/Arts District or St. Paul stations. Northbound Red and Blue line passengers transfer at Akard Station.
TRE passengers transfer to the Green Line at Victory Station. The TRE will operate on Sundays. Details are at TrinityRailwayExpress.org.
The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) will be adjusting its schedule for the duration of the fair. Customers should check DCTA.net for departure and arrival times and to ensure smooth connections to DART's Green Line.
Day Pass is best value
Purchase a Local Day Pass, good for DART Rail and local buses, for just $4. Passengers riding the TRE from CentrePort will pay $7 for a System Day Pass. Tarrant County customers need to purchase a Regional Day Pass for $10. The fares are good for trains, buses or both. Passes are available at ticket vending machines located at all DART and TRE stations.
There is a discount for buying the DART/State Fair Combo Ticket in advance, available only at participating Kroger Food Stores, a $20 value for $17. The price includes one-time State Fair admission and transportation on DART Rail and local buses on the date of use. These passes are not valid on the TRE or A-train.
More details are available at DART.org/StateFair or by calling DART Customer Information at 214-979-1111.
Special service for special games
DART and the TRE will provide additional service for the State Fair Classic featuring Prairie View A&M and Grambling State universities on Saturday, Oct. 6 and the Texas–Oklahoma game on Saturday, Oct. 13. Details are available at DART.org/StateFairClassic and DART.org/RedRiverRivalry.
