Eyes are Smiling as DART Prepares for St. Patrick's Day Parade
It's no blarney; Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will begin early morning 10-minute rail service from southbound Parker Road Station and northbound West End Station on Saturday, March 16 to accommodate the Dallas St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Come early, wear green, and take advantage of changes that give DART riders trains that are more frequent, adding increased capacity for the busy day.
Additional Red and Orange Line trains from Plano will operate from 6:58 a.m. to 6:28 p.m. bringing customers safely to either Mockingbird or Lovers Lane stations for the 11 a.m. parade and festivities on Greenville Avenue.
Parade goers from Carrollton, Farmers Branch and Dallas can easily switch to the Orange or Red Line in downtown Dallas and ride additional trains starting at 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. TRE passengers can change to the Orange Line at Victory Station.
DART staff will be available at key stations to help you buy your ticket and make your connections. A Day Pass for only $5 is valid for unlimited rides on the date of purchase and is available at ticket vending machines or tables managed by staff at Parker Road, Bush Turnpike, Arapaho, Downtown Garland and Cityplace/Uptown stations. Staff will also be selling tickets after the parade at Mockingbird and Lovers Lane stations.
Passengers who normally use bus routes 502 and 583 at Lovers Lane Station will be unable to do so until 7 p.m. Both routes will be detoured to serve Mockingbird Station. Route 502 will also continue to serve Park Lane Station.
DART's Fair Share Parking contractor, Platinum Parking, will have additional signage and personnel available for the St. Patrick's Day Parade at Parker Road, North Carrollton/Frankford and Belt Line stations. The daily rate is $2. Riders who have purchased monthly parking passes and residents of DART service member cities who have acquired parking stickers in advance will not have to pay. Residents without a permit must pay to park. More information on Fair Share Parking is found at DART.org/PaidParking.
Additional details about DART service are available at DART.org or by calling Customer Information at 214-979-1111.
