Minor DART bus and rail changes coming
Dallas Area Rapid Transit is making adjustments to just over a dozen bus routes and the Red, Green and Orange rail lines to address ridership needs. The changes begin Monday, August 26.
Most routes and schedules aren't changing, but customers are encouraged to pick up a service change brochure or updated timetables available online at DART.org or at DART facilities or on board buses and trains. Customers needing more information may also call 214-979-1111.
Changes include the extension of Route 582 during morning and evening rush hours from LBJ/Central Station to serve Forest Lane Station, primarily along Campanella Drive and Schroeder Road. Route 452 buses will no longer serve the Campus at Legacy loop on Saturdays. Also, current detours on Routes 1, 11, 19 and 21 will become permanent.
Minor schedule modifications are planned on DART Rail Red, Green and Orange Lines, along with bus routes 39, 210, 347, 486, 488, 502, 524, 542, 547, 582, 593 and 987.
Arlington bus route on the way
In advance of DART's service change Arlington's first bus connection to the Trinity Railway Express begins Monday, August 19. The Metro Arlington Express, or MAX, will operate Monday through Friday from approximately 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. as a non-stop route from The University of Texas at Arlington's College Park District to the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station of the Trinity Railway Express.
MAX is made possible as part of a two-year contract between the city of Arlington, DART and The T in Ft. Worth. DART customers can get schedule details on DART.org by looking for Express Bus Route 221. Additional information is available at www.ridethemax.com.
