Six-year DART veteran
Don Ginzel named vice president of DART's Procurement and Materials Management Department DART has named Weldon J. (Don) Ginzel vice president of its Procurement and Materials Management Department, overseeing the awarding and management of DART construction, services and commodity contracts. Ginzel has been with DART since 1994, serving as a contract analyst and source selection official.
Ginzel brings substantial government contracting and procurement experience to the position. He was director of the Defense General Supply Center in Richmond, Va. from 1982-1985, and then commanded the Department of Defense's Plant Representative Office at Texas Instruments for two years. Subsequently, he managed various purchasing offices for major government contractors prior to joining DART.
With responsibility for four divisions, including Contracting Cost/Pricing and Policy, Purchasing Administration and Support, Commodities and Services, and Project Contracts and Miscellaneous Construction and Material Control, Ginzel not only oversees the contract awarding process, but must ensure that all contracts and purchases are conducted and administered in accordance with DART's procurement regulations and in an economic and effective manner, in compliance with all applicable statutes.
A member of the National Contract Management Association, Ginzel has a Master's degree in Management and Supervision from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M.
