Free health screenings and helpful information Seniors invited to DART information and health fair DART will present its 9th Annual Older Americans Information and Health Fair in celebration of Older Americans Month on Thursday, May 15. Seniors citizens residing throughout DART's 13 member cities are invited to attend this free event:
The Health Fair will offer information on DART services, health issues, fire and personal safety, social services and pet adoption. Seniors citizens can receive free eye exams, hearing exams, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks. Entertainment will be provided and Dale Hansen, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) sports anchor, will serve as master of ceremonies. More than 30 organizations will be on hand to provide free health services and information, offer valuable giveaways and hold drawings. Participating organizations include DART Paratransit, Alzheimer's Association, AARP, La Voz del Anciano, Trinity Railway Express, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, City of Dallas Office of Senior Affairs, Mobility on Wheels, Dallas Area Agency on Aging, Vision Travel Services, Bank One, Cataract Institute, Dallas Fire Rescue and the Dallas Public Library.
