Riding the bus is easy, but these tips might help

Just tell us where you are, where you want to go, and what time you need to arrive. We'll tell you the closest bus stop, what time to catch your bus, how long your trip will take, what transfers you may need to make, and how much your trip will cost. We also can direct you to convenient locations to buy monthly passes.
If you wish, we'll mail you a personalized trip plan and the individual route schedules you'll need. Or pick up maps and schedules at your nearby DART Transit Center, local public library, Chamber of Commerce or City Hall. More information is available at the DART store, located at Akard Station in downtown Dallas at DART headquarters at Pacific and Akard (Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
Be at your stop a few minutes before your bus is due to arrive. Before boarding the bus, double-check the route number and name displayed above the driver's windshield. If you're not sure it's the right bus, just ask the driver.
Exact cash or change or a DART pass are acceptable fares. The base two-hour pass is $2.50. The Fare Information Page lists prices for various options.
If you have a Day Pass Voucher, please present the voucher to your first bus operator for validating. On any subsequent bus trips, swipe the voucher through the farebox. Day Pass Vouchers are valid for the date they are validated through 3 a.m. the following day.
When using GoPass, be sure to buy and activate your ticket before boarding the bus. Show the activated ticket on your smartphone to the bus operator.
Allow other passengers to get off before boarding. Board through the front door of the bus. Riding the bus is easy; just follow these simple rules. Sit anywhere you like. Generally, seats near the front door are reserved for elderly and mobility-impaired passengers. You may carry on baby strollers, carts, and other small items; just make sure they don't block the aisle.

Every day passengers board DART buses and trains with strollers. Many of these passengers desire to use the priority seating and securement area to access transit. See these Stroller Smart guidelines when sharing limited space on public transit.
If you do not have a DART pass, you must insert the exact fare into the farebox as you board. Fareboxes accept $1 bills and/or coins, including $1 coins.
If you already have a valid pass, swipe the pass through the farebox. When using GoPass, show your activated ticket on your smartphone to the bus operator.
Day Passes are available on all buses, from ticket vending machines at rail stations and the GoPass app. Passengers can purchase a Day Pass (your best value — $5.00 Local, $10.00 Regional and $2.50 Reduced). These Day Passes will be good for unlimited rides on DART buses and trains (including your return trip) until 3 a.m. the following day.
About one block from your stop, press one of the yellow plastic strips (next to the windows on most buses) or the red buttons (above passenger seats in other buses). This signals the operator that you want to get off at the next stop.
Exit through the front or rear doors. The operator will open the front door. Some rear doors have a sign that lets you know to press a bar or button to open them.
