Guidelines for Filing an Appeal of a Trespass Warning
with Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department

The Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department's Trespass Warning Appeal process is designed to provide persons who have received a Trespass Warning, from any Dallas Area Rapid Transit asset(s), an opportunity to appeal the Trespass Warning. This process enables a fair review of the facts surrounding the Warning. After review, the warning may be reversed, modified, or upheld.

The Trespass Warning Appeal Process is not valid for criminal charges, traffic offenses or any item where a court date is set, including any court summons. The process for appealing those matters is through the court system and this process is not a substitute or replacement of the court system. If you have received a Trespass Warning from any Dallas Area Rapid Transit asset(s) and you wish to appeal, you must use the following process (no appeals may be made in person or via phone):

  • Download and print a copy of this Trespass Warning Appeal Form or obtain a copy of this Trespass Warning Appeal Form at Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department Headquarters (located at 2111 S. Corinth Street Rd. Dallas, TX 75203. Adjacent to Illinois Station)

  • Send the completed form and any supporting documents to the following address via mail (or hand delivery), within thirty (30) days of the Trespass Warning issued date to:

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department
ATTN: Supervisor of Records Management and Crime Statistics
    Trespass Warning Appeal
    2111 S. Corinth Street Rd.
    Dallas, Texas 75203
The Trespass Warning Appeal will be reviewed along with any supporting documentation and issue a decision. If the review results in a reversal the Trespass Warning will be lifted, and you may return to any Dallas Area Rapid Transit asset(s) from which the Trespass Warning was issued. If the review modifies the Trespass Warning, then the Trespass Warning will be modified. If the review yields a decision for the Trespass Warning to stand, then the Warning remains in place.

If you return to any Dallas Area Rapid Transit asset(s) during the period which you have been banned, you may be arrested for violating the Trespass Warning pursuant to Texas Penal Code 30.05. Notice of an appeal does not suspend the Trespass Warning. Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department Headquarters is the only exception when delivering this form in person.
