Downtown Dallas Transit Study

Downtown Dallas Transit Study

Phase Two
Alternatives Analysis

DART kicked off Phase Two of its Downtown Dallas Transit Improvements Study, referred to as D2, at a Public Meeting on February 13, 2013. The D2 study is intended to consider alignments for the second light rail line through Downtown Dallas.

Phase one of the study concluded with the Alternatives Analysis/Draft Environmental Impact Statement (AA/DEIS) in May 2010. Phase Two builds on the original effort. In response to comments received, the Study Team developed new alternatives and revised Phase One alternatives.

The Study Team held an hour-long Open House, followed by a formal presentation on February 13, 2013. Alternatives and refinements that are being considered for detailed evaluation were presented. Additionally, the Study Team reviewed how the Phase II effort is being coordinated with other relevant transportation projects and recently completed downtown plans.

Since then, the Study Team has been refining alternatives even further and completing the evaluation of alternatives. The results will be presented at Advisory Committee and public meetings in Fall 2014 and Winter 2015. Stay tuned for upcoming meeting dates.
