Explore the Great Indoors
It may be cold outside, but you can find plenty of indoor DARTable activities to blow off some steam without ever seeing your breath.

Let the good times "roll" with family and friends. Bowl and Barrel is part of the new generation of lanes - 15, to be exact - that provides contemporary amenities along with the tried-and-true pastime. The self-described "bowling boutique" has a bar and full-service restaurant with gourmet eats. The bowling alley is at The Shops at Park Lane, near Park Lane Station.

Shadow Lan Gaming Center in Richardson is an entertaining environment where all ages gather to play their favorite computer games with friends. There are 22 stations with many popular titles preinstalled. Bring your own computer and get in for half price. The gaming emporium is accessible via Bus Route 451 (Coit @ Woodstone bus stop), which connects to both Forest Lane Station and Jack Hatchell Transit Center.

For an interactive experience, head to Escape the Room. This creative adventure is perfect for small groups. Players are locked inside a room and must locate hidden objects, find clues and solve puzzles to escape. You've got 60 minutes to get out! But getting there is easy - take Bus Route 36 to the corner of Preston Road and Forest Lane. The route departs from West Transfer Center, Cityplace/Uptown Station and Addison Transit Center.

And for a fun activity that may shave off a holiday pound or two, ice skating fits the bill. The Dr Pepper StarCenter in Farmers Branch has the goods: plenty of ice space, well-maintained rinks, and terrific hockey and figure skating programs for kids and teenagers. The great upstairs observation area offers snacks and a bar. The ice skating complex is two blocks from Farmers Branch Station.
