Classics of the Season
Dallas Theater Center's A Christmas Carol has been a favorite for generations, and every year it's a little different. With spectacular sets and joyful musical numbers, it's must-see. The show runs Nov. 21-Dec. 30 at the Wyly Theatre, a short walk from Pearl/Arts District Station on all four DART Rail lines. It is also on the D-Link (Bus Route 722).

The Nutcracker at the Eisemann Center is a fastpaced production perfect for younger audiences. The Dallas Repertoire Ballet's production runs Dec. 7-9. (The 2 p.m. show on Dec. 8 is tailored for children with sensory processing disorders.) The venue will host other productions, as well. It's steps from Galatyn Park Station on the Red Line.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas is a heartwarming musical at The Firehouse Theatre. Based on the film, it follows two song-anddance men, who met as soldiers. Along with a duo of beautiful singing sisters, they're en route to a Christmas show at a Vermont lodge. Performances are from Nov. 29-Dec. 16. The theatre is walking distance from Farmers Branch Station.

White Christmas also gets a production by CORP at the Plaza Theatre, near the Blue Line's Downtown Garland Station. We follow Bob and Phil (the song-and-dance men), who romantically pursue Judy and Betty (the beautiful sisters). Once they get to the Columbia Inn (the Vermont lodge), they discover it's owned by their former commanding officer, and it's going broke. Can they save the lodge and find love? Find out Dec. 14-22.
