Sept. 7 The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers organized the Freedom Run® as an opportunity to unite and honor the heroes and victims of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The 19th annual run is back at Trinity Groves this year. Bring the family and join in for the Freedom Run as money is raised for the Dallas Assist the Officer Foundation. The 5K Run / One Mile Walk starts at the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge at Trinity Groves, 3030 Gulden Avenue. The one-mile fun run begins at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K run begins at 8:30 a.m. Information: www.freedomrun.com.

Sept. 7 North Texas Walk Like MADD & 5K Dash raises funds and rallies support for The North Texas Affiliate of Mothers Against Drunk Driving's Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving. The starting point is Lake Carolyn, 514 E. Las Colinas Blvd. in Irving. Information: www.walklikemadd.org.

Sept. 14 Walk with the American Heart Association at the 2019 Dallas Heart Walk. Check-in starts at 6:30 a.m. and the opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. The starting point is located at the Base of Reunion Tower. Information: www.dallasheartwalk.org.
How to get there on DART:
In addition to the regularly scheduled Saturday service, DART has added more Red Line trains providing service between Parker Road Station and EBJ Union Station near Reunion Tower.
Departures from Parker Road Station (Red Line Service):
5:58 a.m., 6:13 a.m., 6:28 a.m., 6:43 a.m., 6:58 a.m., 7:13 a.m., and 7:28 a.m.
You may board any regularly scheduled Red or Blue Line or Trinity Railway Express train and ride to EBJ Union Station. Passengers arriving downtown on Green or Orange line trains may transfer to Red or Blue line trains at West End Station.
