DART Rail Program On Track
Public meetings scheduled for Northwest light rail corridor Residents, neighborhood groups, business owners, property owners and public officials can get the latest DART Northwest Corridor light rail news and offer their input into the project at two meetings on Wednesday, March 28 and Thursday, March 29.
There are two branches to the Northwest Corridor light rail project. The section from downtown Dallas to Farmers Branch and Carrollton is scheduled to open in 2008 and the section to Las Colinas and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is scheduled to open in 2010.
These meetings will focus on the environmental and conceptual engineering phase of the portion of the light rail corridor between downtown Dallas to Farmers Branch and Carrollton. Future meetings will focus on the section of the line to Las Colinas and D/FW Airport. Meeting topics include proposed station locations, conceptual rail alignment design issues, land use compatibility, visual quality, noise and other environmental issues. As the project progresses, DART staff will work closely with the community to develop measures to minimize or eliminate possible environmental impacts.
