Come learn about DART Safety
A day of fun and learning at DART Safety Camp Bring the kids to the Safety Camp, a free event filled with learning and fun on Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Willie B. Johnson Recreation Center, 12225 Willowdell Drive in Dallas.
DART representatives will be out in full force at the DART Safety Camp, part of DART's ongoing transit safety program, teaching children of all ages how to ride safely. At the camp, visitors will have an opportunity to get on a DART bus, learn about DART operations and, most important, how to be safe around DART buses and light rail trains.
DART representatives will also pass out safety posters and trading cards of the DART Safety Team. The posters and cards feature local sports celebrities like Dallas Stars Mike Modano, Dallas Sidekick Tatu, Dallas Burn players Ariel Graziani and Jason Kreis, Dallas Cowboy Dat Nguyen, Dallas Maverick Michael Finley, Texas Ranger Rafael Palmeiro, local Indy and NASCAR driver Greg Ray and Olympic champion Tara Lipinski.
There will also be games, free popcorn and drinks for the entire family. Representatives from the DART Transit Police, Operation Lifesaver, Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire Department will also be on hand to provide safety information.
