Senior citizens get free health screenings at DART fair DART celebrates Older Americans Month with its Seventh Annual Information and Health Fair on Wednesday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at DART Headquarters, 1401 Pacific Avenue at the Akard Rail Station.
Seniors citizens throughout DART's 13 member cities are invited to attend this free event. Fair visitors will receive a wide range of information on DART services, health issues, fire and personal safety, social services and pet adoption. Guests can get free eye exams, hearing exams, blood pressure checks, glucose and cholesterol checks.
"Senior citizens are important to us. We're glad to sponsor an event that brings together organizations to provide free health exams and education on DART services," said Jessica Lennon, DART's supervisor, Transit Education Outreach.
More than 40 participating organizations will be on hand, including AARP, Alzheimer's Association, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Arthritis Foundation, Cataract Institute, City of Dallas, Dallas Fire Prevention, Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Public Library.
