Definitions:
Unlawful Restraint - intentionally or knowingly restricting someone else's movements without their consent, so as to substantially interfere with their liberty by confining them or moving them from place to place.Criminal Mischief - intentionally or knowingly damaging, destroying, or tampering with someone else's property.
Criminal Trepass - entering someone else's property after having been notified that entry was forbidden or after having been notified to depart and not departing.
DART Police make arrests for Criminal Trespass when the person returns to DART property after having been warned not to return to DART property. DART Police ban people from DART property for a variety of reasons in order to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for DART's passengers. The reasons for the bans include, but are not limited to: (1) habitually committing fare evasion; (2) violating DART's code of conduct; (3) using DART property for reasons other than utilizing transportation services; and (4) committing criminal offenses. The large number of Criminal Trespass arrests indicate a proactive approach by DART Police to maintain a safe and peaceful environment throughout the transit system.
Fraud/White Collar Crimes - includes using a stolen or revoked credit card, issuing a bad check, forgery, identity theft, breach of computer security, insurance fraud, trademark counterfeiting, etc.
