Special center shuttle service begins July 28

DART and the Trinity Railway Express Take You to the New American Airlines Center

Take a bus or take a train, but take the hassle out of getting to the new American Airlines Center.

DART bus and light rail, along with the Trinity Railway Express, a joint venture of DART and the T, have three services that will deliver customers to the show on time.

Free Shuttle Buses for Initial Events
American Airlines Center is funding free shuttle buses for the opening events including Eagles concert on opening night, Saturday, July 28. The buses depart from DART's West End Rail Station (at the corner of Lamar St. and Pacific Ave.) and from the corner of Record and Ross streets in the West End Historic District. Customers should look for special signs that show where to board. The free bus service is available for events on July 29 and 30, as well.

The shuttle bus service will begin two hours before the scheduled event and pick up passengers every 10 minutes prior to the event. The buses take customers directly to the center.

Return trips from the center to the West End and the West End Station begin immediately after the show ends and run every 10 minutes for an hour following the event. Customers leaving the center should board the bus at Wichita and Victory streets.

Free shuttle bus service will be available to the following events:

Date Event Event Time Shuttle Service Begins
Lamar & Pacific
7/28 Eagles 8:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.
7/29 Michael Flatley 7:30 p.m. 5:30 p.m.

(Click here for DART Light Rail Blue and Red Line Schedules)
To make sure they reach the shuttle bus on time, customers can ride any of DART's light rail trains to the West End Station. Single-trip tickets for $1 or convenient round-trip Day Passes for $2 can be purchased from ticket vending machines at all rail station platforms.

Trinity Railway Express
Concertgoers from Irving and the Mid-Cities can ride the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) to and from a temporary Victory Station at the center. There will be no TRE train service to the center from Union Station in downtown Dallas until the permanent Victory Station is completed in 2003.

The Trinity Railway Express has two fare zones. Passengers traveling between Irving and Dallas can purchase one-zone, single-ride tickets for $1 or round-trip Day Passes for $2. Passengers traveling from the Richland Hills, Hurst/Bell and CentrePort/DFW Airport stations in Tarrant County can purchase two-zone, single-ride tickets for $2 or round-trip Day Passes for $4. Tickets are available from ticket vending machines at each station. Monthly DART and T passes also are accepted.

For the Eagles concert, the TRE will make three scheduled runs beginning at Richland Hills with stops at Hurst/Bell, CentrePort, West Irving, South Irving and Medical/Market Center stations. Return trains begin leaving the American Airlines Center at 11:03 p.m. or 20 minutes after the show, whichever comes last. The final train leaves the center at 12:03 a.m.

Bus Routes 26 and 44 offer regular weekday and weekend service to American Airlines Center
Customers wishing to reach American Airlines Center at any time also can ride DART Bus Routes 26 and 44 from the West Transfer Center located at Griffin and Pacific Streets in downtown Dallas. Single-ride fare of $1 is payable in the bus farebox. Return trips from the center depart from Field and Cedar Springs streets.
