DART and TRE provide service to sporting events

Ride DART and the Trinity Railway Express to Home Games at the American Airlines Center

Are you a sports fan? If you want the best ride to the Dallas Mavericks, Dallas Stars and Dallas Desperados home games at the American Airlines Center, think DART and the Trinity Railway Express.

DART bus and light rail, and the Trinity Railway Express, a joint project of DART and the T, will get sports fans to their event on time.

DART Shuttle Bus
Take DART's Light Rail Blue or Red line to DART's West End Rail Station (at the corner of Lamar St. and Pacific Avenue) in downtown Dallas and board the free shuttle bus at Lamar Street and Pacific Avenue to the American Airlines Center.

The shuttle bus operates two hours before the scheduled event and one hour after an event, with continuous service every 10 minutes. For return trips from the American Airlines Center to the West End Rail Station, customers simply board the shuttle on Wichita and Victory streets on the south side of the center.

Ride DART Rail to the Shuttle Bus
To reach the shuttle bus on time, customers can ride any of DART's light rail trains to the West End Station. Single-trip tickets for $1 or convenient round-trip Day Passes for $2 can be purchased from ticket vending machines at all rail station platforms.

Trinity Railway Express
Sports fans from Irving and Tarrant County can ride the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) to and from the temporary Victory Station platform at the center. There will be no train service to the center from Union Station in downtown Dallas until the permanent Victory Station is completed in 2004.

The Trinity Railway Express has two fare zones. Passengers traveling between Irving and Dallas can purchase one-zone, single-ride tickets for $1 or round-trip Day Passes for $2. Passengers traveling to Dallas from Tarrant County (CentrePort and beyond) can purchase two-zone, single-ride tickets for $2 or round-trip Day Passes for $4. Tickets are available from ticket vending machines at each station. Monthly DART and T passes also are accepted.

Bus Routes 26 and 44 offer everyday service to American Airlines Center
Customers wishing to reach American Airlines Center at any time also can ride DART Bus Routes 26 and 44 from the West Transfer Center in downtown Dallas. The bus departs from the bus stop at Griffin and Pacific streets and goes to the Wichita and Field bus stop. Single-ride fare of $1 or $2 Day Passes are payable in the bus farebox. Return trips from the center depart from the Field and Cedar Springs bus stop and return to Griffin and Pacific. Routes alternate every 10 minutes until midnight.
