Media Relations Contact: May 7, 2002 Fair provides vital information for seniors DART invites senior citizens to annual information, health fair DART celebrates Older Americans Month by inviting senior citizens from its 13 member cities to its "8th Annual Older Americans Month Information and Health Fair" Thursday, May 16 at DART Headquarters, 1401 Pacific.
Fair visitors will receive a wide range of information on DART services, health issues, fire and personal safety, social services and pet adoptions, along with prizes and drawings. The fair will feature free health screenings, including cataract/glaucoma, hearing exams, plus glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure checks. Channel 4 anchorwoman Clarice Tinsley and Mrs. Texas, Dawn Mazzu, are this year's special guests. More than 40 organizations are participating, including the Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Dallas Police Department, Dallas Public Library, Inwood National Bank, Methodist Hospital, Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas, Social Security Administration, SPCA, YWCA, VNA and UT Southwestern Medical Center.
