April meetings to encourage citizen ideas Public to view Light Rail alignment for Northwest Corridor The public is invited to review DART's Northwest Corridor alignment and station plans for light rail service during two April public meetings.
This new light rail line will expand DART's rail service from Downtown Dallas through Northwest Dallas, including the Medical Center and Love Field areas and into Farmers Branch and Carrollton. The public meeting will review a new Northwest Corridor alignment option serving the Medical Center area. It will also cover engineering plans, station layouts and site options for a DART Transit Operations Facility to store and maintain rail vehicles. DART has been conducting public meetings as part of its two-year planning process for the line. The 17.5-mile Northwest line will run from downtown Dallas north along Harry Hines Boulevard and the former Union Pacific Railroad through Dallas and Farmers Branch to Frankford Road in Carrollton. Service to Farmers Branch and Carrollton is scheduled to begin in 2008. -- 30 -- |
