DART News Release
Media Relations Contact: March 9, 2004 Take the train to the old and the new "Countrypolitan" charm and true grit Dallas has a passel of pizzazz, but for a breather from all the polish, take a day trip to a laid-back land of true grit -- Fort Worth.
A short walk or ride on T Bus Route 1 brings visitors to the "countrypolitan" charm of Sundance Square, where restaurants, bars and boutiques exhibit a uniquely Western flair. Stroll, window shop or take in a refreshing beverage and people watch. For those who crave a taste of the real West - rodeos, cattle drives, barbecue, saloons and live country music - the Fort Worth Stockyards delivers the goods. A short ride on T Bus Route 1 from the ITC or Sundance Square takes you to the Stockyards where Fort Worth lives up to its billing as the place "Where the West Begins." The Cultural District provides a delightful contrast to Fort Worth's dyed-in-the-duds cowboy culture. It's home to the Kimbell Museum, the Modern Art Museum and the Amon Carter Museum. For something a little different, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, featuring the spectacular Omni Theater is located next to the art museums. To explore the Cultural District, take the T bus Route 7 from the ITC. Visit www.DART.org/artsandscience for details of the current exhibits. ![]() ![]() Establishments wishing to be included in the next DART destination deals guide update should call 214-749-2661.
