Auction preview starts Friday, sale on Saturday

All I want for Christmas is my own bus

Don't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to shop for that special someone. Bring your checkbook or cash to DART's November 13 public auction of 80 buses.

Kick the tires and register for the auction starting Friday, November 12 from 9:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Registration continues on Saturday from 8 - 10 a.m. The auction begins at 10:30 a.m. at DART's South Oak Cliff Bus Operating Facility at 3422 E. Kiest Blvd. in Dallas.

Church groups, motor and charter companies, even international bus companies are among those interested in buying buses at the auction. Each 40-foot bus accommodates up to 47 passengers and is wheelchair accessible.

DART is updating its 750-bus fleet and is retiring buses purchased in 1991. DART began a complete bus fleet replacement in 1998. The final group of new buses is scheduled to be in service by the end of November.
