August 13, 2003 DART Board of Directors Names Agency General Counsel
DART has appointed Swanson "Rocky" Angle, interim general counsel, as general counsel of the agency. He assumed his new post on August 12.
As general counsel, Angle will provide legal advice and services to the DART Board and staff, manage attorneys and staff in DART's Legal Department and supervise outside counsel.
Angle began his DART career in 1998 as a procurement law attorney. Previously he was a senior partner with the law firm Sonnenschein Nath and Rosenthal in St. Louis, Mo., and served in the U.S. Air Force as an acquisition law director and as chief legal counsel on both domestic and foreign assignments.
"Mr. Angle's extensive government background, expertise in contract law and knowledge of DART will be tremendous assets in his new position," said DART Board Chairman Robert Pope.
Angle is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the University of Virginia School of Law. In addition, he holds a Master of Laws degree from George Washington University Law School. He and his wife reside in Plano.
