DART brings games, prizes, transit information to Cinco de Mayo events Dallas Area Rapid Transit celebrates Cinco de Mayo with participation in three events. Visitors to the DART booth can look for games, fun prizes and schedule information in Spanish and English at the following events:
Cinco de Mayo at Pike Park, 2807 Harry Hines Boulevard, runs from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6.
Cinco de Mayo at Fair Park, 1300 Robert B. Cullum Boulevard at Grand Avenue, runs from 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7.
If you're of Mexican descent or just like a party, Cinco de Mayo is the day to celebrate the anniversary of the 1862 Battle of Puebla, when the outnumbered Mexican army defeated Napoleon III's army and the city of Puebla stood. Celebrations include everything from parades to salsa music, and participants from many communities join in. -- 30 --
