DART Bus Route Changes Take Effect Monday, June 9
Effective Monday, June 9, DART will modify six bus routes and eliminate two others currently performing below ridership standards.
Following public meetings in Addison, Dallas, Garland and Rowlett and a public hearing in Dallas, the DART Board of Directors approved the modifications on May 13. The changes are as follows:
Route 202 Rush-hour service reduced from 13 to 15 minutes and selected late-evening and weekend trips eliminated on both weekdays and weekends. Route 310 trips, which are combined with Route 202 on weekends, also are affected.
Routes 204, 210, 207 Weekday morning and evening route schedules adjusted to reflect ridership patterns. Route 204 peak-hour frequency reduced from 6 to 8 minutes; Route 210 peak-hour frequency reduced from 10 to 12 minutes; and Route 207 peak-hour frequency reduced from 10 to 20 minutes.
Route 281 Route eliminated, alternative service available on Route 283 (express/park & ride service available at Lake Ray Hubbard Transit Center) or local service provided on Routes 60 and 164.
Route 385 Two morning and two evening trips eliminated to reflect ridership patterns.
Route 573 Midday and evening service eliminated to reflect ridership patterns; only peak-hour service will be provided. Spring Valley Road service still available on Route 358.
Route 581 Route eliminated, alternative service between South Garland Transit Center and White Rock Station provided by Route 428.
Service Change Alerts and customer timetables are available on buses and at transit centers and downtown Dallas DART Stores the week of May 26.
