Public Meetings Scheduled
DART conducting meetings on East, Southeast and Northwest Corridors during December
DART representatives are conducting a series of meetings to update residents on planned transit projects. The meetings will be held at convenient neighborhood locations in each of the corridors.
Southeast Corridor
DART representatives will present a Southeast Corridor Light Rail Transit (LRT) project update at community meetings Tuesday, December 9, Wednesday, December 10, and Thursday, December 11. The project will extend light rail from downtown Dallas to Fair Park, South Dallas and Pleasant Grove.
DART staff will provide an overview of the planned rail line at the meetings. Topics to be discussed include:
- Project status
- Schedule update
- Residential betterments policy.
The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the project was completed in October and is available on DART.org, and at the J. Erik Jonsson, Martin Luther King, Jr., Pleasant Grove and Skyline branch libraries.

Northwest Corridor
DART representatives will present a Northwest Corridor Light Rail Transit (LRT) project update at community meetings Tuesday, December 9, and Thursday, December 11. The LRT project will extend light rail from downtown Dallas to Farmers Branch and Carrollton.
At the community meetings, DART staff will provide an overview of the planned Northwest Corridor LRT line to Farmers Branch and Carrollton. Topics to be discussed include:
- Project status
- Schedule update
- Future opportunities for public involvement
- Residential betterments policy.

East Corridor
DART is holding three public meetings in December to update residents on the status of the East Corridor Major Investment Study (MIS).
The community meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, Wednesday, December 17, and Thursday, December 18. The study uses community involvement in developing and evaluating alternative transportation improvement strategies.
The study area includes parts of Dallas, Garland, Mesquite, Rowlett and Sunnyvale in east Dallas County. The East Corridor is bounded by Ferguson Road and the Santa Fe Railroad to the north, Scyene Road and Military Parkway to the south, roughly downtown Dallas to the west and the Rockwall County line and SH 352 to the east.
At the community meetings, DART staff will provide an overview of the East Corridor MIS, including:
- A summary of the MIS and its findings;
- Detailed evaluation of transportation alternatives; and
- Recommendations for improving mobility in the corridor.
The public will have the opportunity to view project exhibits and ask questions. The East Corridor MIS community meetings will be held at these times and locations:
