Free event honors Older Americans Month

DART Hosts 20th Annual Health Fair for Senior Citizens

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), the Dallas Area Agency on Aging and the City of Dallas Park and Recreation invite all senior citizens to help celebrate Older Americans Month and the theme Safe Today, Healthy Tomorrow, at the 20th Annual Older Americans Information and Health Fair, Thursday, May 15.

The free event for seniors is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Hall in Fair Park. Attendees are encouraged to save on parking and ride DART's Green Line directly to Fair Park Station where signs will direct attendees to the hall.

Senior citizens can meet special guest FOX-4 news anchor Clarice Tinsley and get free health screenings for prostate, blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes while enjoying lunch, prizes, drawings and information on a variety of topics. Other guests attending the fair include DART President/Executive Director Gary Thomas, The Honorable Sarah R. SaldaÃ±a, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Acting Assistant Dallas Chief of Police Jesse Reyes, and Myrna Blackwood, Ms. Texas Senior America 2013.
