DART named Public Entity of the Year by RHCA
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) was named Public Entity of the Year at the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association's (RHCA) 6th Annual Pillar Awards.
The RHCA acknowledged the agency's ongoing capital expansion as well as three rail openings for the Orange Line to Irving and Blue Line to Rowlett in 2012 at their annual event at the Omni Dallas Hotel on March 28.
In addition, three DART projects and associated contractors were recognized as finalists in the Project of the Year category: Rowlett Blue Line Expansion - Austin Bridge & Road, Northwest Plano Park & Ride - Phillips/May Corporation and Irving Orange Line Expansion - Kiewit, Stacy and Witbeck, Reyes, Parsons, a Joint Venture. The later was also nominated as Joint Venture of the Year.
The RHCA Pillar Awards are given to individuals and entities who have been exemplary champions of the RHCA and the construction profession.
The Regional Hispanic Contractors Association, formerly the Hispanic Contractors Association of DFW, was formed in 1995 to address the business and political concerns of the fast-growing Hispanic sector of the construction industry.
