DART police chosen to assist with inauguration safety

Eleven Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) police officers will again be in Washington, D.C. to assist with safety and security during festivities for President Barack Obama's inauguration.

The group will be assigned to assist and support the security efforts of their counterpart transit agency, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), by increasing their staffing levels in key areas associated with inauguration activities.

Each officer was chosen based on recommendations from their supervisors, overall performance, dedication, dependability and their positive representation of the DART Police Department in fulfilling their duties. They join thousands of other law enforcement officers from around the country for this special event and will earn a commemorative badge in honor of their service.
