Dallas, TX- On Friday, May 16, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) invites the public to kick off their commute on two wheels for the annual “Bike to Work Day” event. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a healthier, more eco-friendly commute while saving money.
Participate in Bike to Work Day
Main event will be hosted at Akard Station from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring giveaways, refreshments, bike safety checks, and more. Additional events will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the following stations:
- CityLine/Bush
- Downtown Irving/Heritage Crossing
- Lake June
- Parker Road
- Southwest Medical District/Parkland
Over 300 people entered for a chance to win a custom bicycle from The Ticket and Scheels! The winner will be announced live at Akard Station.
Bring your Bike on DART
DART accommodates cyclists by providing spaces for their bikes.
- Bus: Most buses are equipped with front-mounted bike racks for your convenience.
- Trains: The center sections of light rail vehicles provide level boarding, making it easy to bring your bike on board.
- Stations: Free bike racks and secure bike lids are available at many stations and transit centers on a first-come, first-served basis.
