Thomas greets San Francisco commuters

DART settles World Series bet with BART

Customers of California's Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) were greeted Monday morning with a familiar song coming from an unfamiliar voice.

To settle a bet made between BART and DART, DART President/Executive Director Gary Thomas met customers at BART's Embarcadero Station dressed in a San Francisco Giants jersey and hat and passed out a special commemorative cookie called a "Texas Gem." He also had to sing "I left my heart in San Francisco" to help pay the debt. Southwest Airlines provided the quick trip and Thomas used the opportunity to thank customers for riding and encourage transit use.
