DART testing plans for 2011 Texas-OU service Sunday
Completion of the 28-mile Green Line is leading to some changes in DART Rail service for the 2011 Texas - Oklahoma football game on October 8 at the Cotton Bowl at Fair Park. DART will test the modified operating plan Sunday, May 1, between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The test primarily affects Green Line customers traveling south between Victory and MLK, Jr. stations. Green Line trains after 10:51 a.m. will leave southbound from Victory Station and proceed directly to MLK, Jr. Station on a special route by way of Union, Convention Center and Cedars stations. Shuttle buses will connect southbound Green Line customers who need to reach West End, Pearl, Deep Ellum, Baylor University Medical Center, Fair Park and MLK, Jr. stations. Passengers wishing to reach Akard or St. Paul stations can transfer to the Red or Blue lines at Union Station. Customers traveling between Fair Park and MLK, Jr. stations also have the option of Route 409 or Route 595 buses.
Southbound passengers departing at MLK, Jr. Station or stops beyond aren't affected. Northbound Green Line trains, as well as Red and Blue line trains, will operate normally, although slight delays may occur during the test period.
Regular Green Line service will resume at 1:30 p.m.
