The Texas General Counsel Forum is a legal association of over 400 Texas general counsels and senior managing counsel, representing more than 325 companies, governmental entities, or non-profit organizations across the State of Texas. Simmons accepted the award during the Forum's Eleventh Annual Conference of General Counsel and was one of 10 award recipients chosen from 25 finalists in 10 categories. Named DART General Counsel in March 2007, Simmons has worked as a DART attorney since 1988. Previously Simmons served as General Counsel of the Texas Secretary of State's Office and is also a former Dallas Assistant City Attorney. Simmons is a graduate of Lamar University and earned his law degree at the University of Texas School of Law. Magna Stella Award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges representing current and retired general counsels from both the private and public sectors. -- 30 -- |
