State Fair Flyer just $7 round-trip

FLY TO THE 1999 STATE FAIR OF TEXAS!

DART gives you three ways to see the world at this year's State Fair of Texas!

DART's State Fair Flyer whisks you and your family straight to the fun every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from September 24 to October 17. Park free at any of eight conveniently located park and ride locations, and enjoy express bus service to and from the Starplex entrance at Fair Park in air-conditioned comfort. DART also provides shuttle bus service on Saturdays and Sundays from the Pearl Rail Station. Again this year, the Big Tex Express, featuring Trinity Railway Express commuter rail cars, brings fairgoers to the gate from the State Fair parking lots on Haskell and Fitzhugh on Saturdays and Sundays as well as Monday, Oct. 4, and Columbus Day, Oct. 11.

DART's State Fair Flyer
Save money by buying special $12 State Fair Flyer Combo tickets in advance at participating Kroger supermarkets -- the price includes round-trip bus service and the $10 State Fair general admission. Customers who already have their Fair tickets can pay the flyer fare when they get off the bus at Fair Park: $7 round-trip for adults, and $6 for children ages 5-11, seniors 65+ and customers with disabilities.

On Fridays and Mondays, State Fair Flyer buses leave park and ride lots hourly, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the last return trip from Fair Park at 12 midnight. On Saturdays and Sundays, buses leave park and ride lots every thirty minutes, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Buses depart Fair Park hourly from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until midnight.

For more information on the State Fair Flyer, call DART Customer Information at (214) 979-1111 or check out our website at www.DART.org.

Make your first ride a train ride
Special Pearl Station Shuttle available on weekends
Every Saturday and Sunday, fairgoers can ride DART's light rail to Pearl Station, and for $1 more board a special DART shuttle bus to the Texas State Fair and back. Departures will be every 20 minutes from 9:30 a.m.; last shuttle bus leaves the Fair at 11:30 p.m.

The Big Tex Express whisks fairgoers from remote parking to the gate
On Saturdays and Sundays, and on Monday, October 4, and Columbus Day, October 11, motorists can ride the Big Tex Express -- trains from the Trinity Railway Express commuter rial service -- between remote parking areas and gate near the Cotton Bowl. The free shuttle train seats 200 passengers and departs continuously from 10 a.m. until midnight. The State Fair of Texas offers acres of lighted and secured parking off Haskell west of Dolphin Road -- easily accessible from I-30. Parking is $5.

See DART's future in the Centennial Building
Don't miss The DART Theater in the Centennial Building, where there's a preview of bus and rail attractions coming to North Texas residents in the next few years.

"Expansion 2003" is truly a spectacular production. From 14 new rail stations to modern shelters and bus transit centers -- we're bringing more services to more people through 2003. The Trinity Railway Express is scheduled to take off for Fort Worth late next year. And DART Rail lovers will be able to board at the new Cityplace Station in December 2000, at White Rock Station in fall 2001, in Richardson by summer 2002, Garland by fall 2002 and in Plano by summer 2003.

The largest state fair in the country celebrates the dawn of a new century by "Going Global." The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, riding coal black horses and performing intricate drills to military marches, perform daily (except Wednesdays) without charge.

Other great attractions include Taiko drummers, Peruvian pipers, Spanish flamenco dancers, Celtic fiddlers, African elephants and tropical butterflies. TXU's fabulous nightly laser show near the reflecting pool uses video images, fireworks and vibrant music. Free concerts on the Chevy Truck Main Stage include Alabama, Jaci Velasquez, Reba McEntire and Lou Rawls.

More information on the State Fair of Texas is available by calling 214-565-9931 or on the World Wide Web at www.bigtex.com.
