DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors announced that former Garland City Council representative and Mayor Pro-tem, Jeff Bass, has been appointed to the DART Board. Bass replaces Marc Abraham, whose term ended June 30. 

Bass previously served on the Garland City Council for the maximum allowed three consecutive terms from 2021 to 2026 and served as mayor pro-tem. He currently serves on the Garland Citizen’s Fire Club Board and is Chair of the Leadership Garland Committee. His public service includes participation on numerous volunteer committees and boards in the City of Garland. He is owner and operator of J. Bass Construction, a residential remodeling, roofing, and commercial contractor based in Richardson, Texas.

Jeff’s record of public service to the City of Garland makes him an ideal representative on this Board,” said Randall Bryant, DART Board of Directors Chair. “We are deeply grateful to Marc Abraham for his commitment, collaboration, and advocacy during his term.”  

Abraham was first appointed to the DART Board in 2023 and was elected Vice Chair in October of 2025. The Board will vote on a new Board Vice Chair later this year.
