March 1, 2002 Public meetings will encourage additional citizen input
March public meetings to explore East Corridor transportation options Learn more about transportation issues along the I-30/US 80 corridor during two public meetings being hosted by DART in March.
DART, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) are examining transportation options to address long-term travel demand for eastern Dallas County, including Garland, southeast Dallas, Mesquite, Sunnyvale and Rowlett. The East Corridor Major Investment Study (MIS) covers an area roughly bounded by Ferguson Road/Santa Fe Railroad/Garland Road in the north, Scyene/Military Parkway in the south, downtown Dallas in the west and Rockwall County line/SH 352 to the east. Here are the meeting details:

The project team will provide an update on the study's progress, explain evaluation criteria and outline different transportation alternatives. The East Corridor study is scheduled for completion later this year. Additional information about the study is available at DART.org at the Expansion Studies link.-- 30 --
