DART minor service changes start August 17
Two new Parkland Hospital routes highlight Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) bus service changes scheduled to begin on Monday, August 17.
With the opening of the new Parkland Memorial Hospital, current Parkland Shuttle Route 703 will be discontinued and replaced by two new routes, 704 and 705. Rides on the new routes will continue to be free and buses will sport the same familiar Parkland colors while linking customers between the old and new hospitals and neighboring rail stations. For the first time, shuttle service will connect to the Medical/Market Center Station on the Trinity Railway Express.
With the completion of work on the Houston Street Viaduct, Marsalis Ave. and Zang Blvd., Routes 11, 19, 21 and 722 have returned to their pre-construction alignments and will no longer be on detour. Detours through the Southgate development on Route 408 and the Cypress Waters development on Route 500 will become permanent with the August changes. Schedule modifications will affect Routes 24, 183, 205, 210, 221, 347, 361, 404, 415, 509, 515, 542, 547, 553, 595 and 597.
New timetables can be found on DART vehicles and at DART customer facilities. Additional details are available by calling DART Customer Service at 214.979.1111 or by visiting DART.org.
