DART Police invites community to National Night Out event
Learn more about the DART Police and what you can do to keep North Texas safe during the Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6 - 8 p.m., at DART Police Headquarters, 2111 S. Corinth St., Dallas, TX, across from Illinois Station on the Blue Line.
The event provides an excellent opportunity for residents and visitors to interact with DART police officers and fare enforcement officers in an informal setting. This is the fifth year DART has hosted a program at their headquarters. The event offers information about a variety of educational, safety, public awareness and youth programs.
DART police emergency vehicles will be on display, including a marked police patrol car, a police motorcycle and a T3 Patroller - a zero-emission, clean-energy, 3-wheeled, electric standup vehicle. Officers will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate equipment. Free information and giveaways, along with music and face painting will be provided to entertain all in attendance.
This nationwide event, developed by the National Association of Town Watch, began in 1984 as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime.
