DART Expands Customer Connectivity Options with Digital Kiosks

With a continued focus on enhancing customer Mobility as a Service (MaaS) opportunities, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) is contracting with Landmark Infrastructure Partners LP to develop a smart media and communications digital platform which will include the deployment of content-rich kiosks at strategic high-traffic locations throughout the DART network.

"This is the future," said Gary Thomas, DART President/Executive Director. "In our increasingly connected world commuters are looking for user-centered mobility solutions. We're developing the technology and tools to empower our customers to make travel decisions based on their needs. Through our sustained emphasis on innovation, DART is defining mobility."

With Landmark's operating partner, Smart City Media, DART's digital kiosk platform will provide local content, real-time information and connectivity that enhances the overall experience for DART customers. Additionally, the kiosks will provide digital advertising, public wi-fi, emergency notification and cameras for safety and security.

"The DART project is a great example of an innovative 'smart city' deployment, providing multiple benefits ranging from connectivity infrastructure solutions with local content and real-time data delivery to important safety and security features.," said Tim Brazy, Chief Executive Officer of the Partnership's general partner. "We believe the Landmark FlexGrid™ solution will play an increasingly important role in these large city developments."
