Create a memorable holiday for you and your guests
'tis the Season to Get Out and About on DART
The presents are opened. You've all had your fill of Christmas pie and TV. Cabin fever is setting in. Now what do you do?
DART Rail delivers you to St. Paul Station in downtown Dallas, where a short walk puts you at the doorstep of the Dallas Museum of Art, the Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art and the new, acclaimed Nasher Sculpture Center. Also downtown, the Sixth Floor Museum, located steps from West End Station, is a must-see for any Dallas visitor.
For a change of pace and scenery, ride the DART Rail Red Line up to Downtown Plano and check out the Interurban Railway Museum. It's a delight for kids of all ages.
Find films for every taste
If movies are your ticket, DART can deliver you to first-run features and art house treasures. To check out the latest blockbusters, ride DART Rail to Walnut Hill Station and the AMC Glen Lakes, head to the United Artists Theater at Park Lane Station, or grab a seat at the Loews Cityplace 14 Theatre at Cityplace Station.
If your tastes run to the eclectic and avant-garde, two Dallas art houses are a quick DART trip away. The Angelika Film Center is right above the rail line at Mockingbird Station. And Magnolia Pictures is a quick walk or ride on the free M-Line Streetcar from Cityplace Station.
Fine films await you in Fort Worth, too. Take the TRE to the ITC and either take a short walk to Sundance Square or board T bus Route 1 or trolley Route 15. There you'll have plenty of cinema choices at the AMC Palace 9 Theatre and AMC Sundance 11.
Taken in your last turkey sandwich of 2003? Then sample something different at the scores of restaurants easily reached on DART. Many of these eateries offer DART destination deals, discounts and other money saving offers for anyone with a DART or TRE ticket or pass.
West End Station is the gateway to gastronomical heaven. West End eateries offering deals to DART customers include The Butcher Shop, Chipotle, Landry's Seafood House, On the Border, the Palm, Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse, Tony Roma's and Y.O. Ranch.
You can get great meals in Richardson, Plano and Garland, too. DART Rail delivers you to the doorstep of Maestro's Restaurant at the Renaissance Hotel via Richardson's Galatyn Park Station. At Downtown Plano Station, choose from the Coffee Haus, El Pescador Seafood, Jorg's Café Vienna & Biergarten and Ye Ole Butcher Shop. Or ride to Downtown Garland Station and stroll to the charming Corner Pocket Sandwich Shoppe, Main Street Coffee Haus and Mr. B Main Street Café.
The TRE takes you to delicious dining, too. Stop off at South Irving Station and enjoy Casa de Reyes Parrilla, Danal's Restaurant and Joe's Coffee Shop. And over in Fort Worth, you can get your fill at Sundance Square's 8.0 Bar & Grill, Daddy Jack's Lobster & Chowder House and the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium.
