The DART Silver Line began operations October 2025 with seven-day passenger service from Shiloh Road Station in Plano to DFW International Airport from approximately 3:20 am to 11:20 pm during weekdays and 4:20 am to 11:20 pm service on the weekends. To get to this point, DART worked with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to deliver a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) in 2018. The agency then worked on several interlocal agreements with participating cities and entities to begin construction and then worked with all the stakeholders involved to finalize design of the project and keep the community engaged and updated on the progress of the project until completion.

Residents were invited to participate in a DART betterment program where residents from each community voted on the color and finish for the betterment and sound walls erected in their cities. There are a total of 59 sound and betterment walls across the 26-mile corridor.
