Station Art:
Embracing the Concept of CommunityThis station is located in a predominantly residential, culturally diverse community near the old Oak Cliff "downtown," an area historically designated because of its noteworthy architecture, dating from the 1920s and 1930s. The station incorporates the historic district's architectural elements, notably its brickwork detailing on a smaller scale, harmonizing with the neighborhood. Canopy columns and platform paving incorporate intricate brick detailing adapted from the brickwork details of the nearby Jefferson historic district. The art at the station embraces the concept of community, ranging from the development of rural Texas life to the growth of a proud, mature neighborhood.
